Story: The Republic first got a tip about the disaster happening at the GPPC a year ago. Apart from the managing director picking his own company to supply the state-owned publishing house, the GPPC lost at least D10 million in advance payments for goods that were never supplied, shouldering D44 million in tax arrears and D12 million in social security contributions, while a number of its printing machines are reported to be faulty beyond repair.
