Story: The inspiration behind this story was to showcase how Gambians, such as Muctarr Bojang, are contributing significantly to the education sector, particularly through the establishment of private schools. Following the release of the West African Senior Secondary School Examination results, his institution recorded impressive grades, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most successful schools in the country. This remarkable performance motivated me to pursue the story, as it provides a clear example of how individual efforts can improve the overall standard of education in The Gambia. What makes Muctarr’s story unique is his personal journey. He began as a birdwatcher, guiding visitors and working within the tourism industry. Yet, through determination and vision, he transitioned into the education sector and eventually founded a school that has grown into a model institution. His ability to move from birdwatching to establishing a center of academic excellence illustrates resilience and commitment. In order to bring this story to life, I travelled to Brikama Jalambang to conduct an interview with him directly. I dedicated my own resources, including transportation and communication expenses, to ensure the accuracy and depth of the report. Ultimately, the story reflects not just academic success but also personal triumph and national progress.
